The Southeast corner of Colorado borders Kansas on the east and Oklahoma and New Mexico on the south. The region boasts several important historical landmarks including Bents Old Fort National Historic Site, Amache National Historic Site, Sand Creek massacre National Historic Site and the Santa Fe National Historic Trail.
