Surrounded by mountains and nestled near the wilderness, the Shepherds Rim Campground at Trappers Lake has 15 scenic campsites. Located at 9,720 feet in elevation, visitors can locate this campground on the right side of the road as you travel south from the Trappers Lake Outlet area.
From Meeker, take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn right on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 39 miles to Trappers Lake Road #205. Turn south on Trappers Lake Road #205, and continue for 10 miles just past the Outlet Trailhead. The Shepherds Rim Campground is on the right.
This facility is operated by White River Recreation, a division of CLM Services, Inc. and your comments are appreciated; comment forms are available from campground hosts or on CLM's website . Several campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails. Certified weed-free hay is required for any livestock. In accordance with standard industry practices, there will be a $6 additional vehicle fee on the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicles in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered as 1 vehicle for determining additional vehicle fees. The third and fourth motorcycle would also be considered as 1 vehicle.
